Picture Gallery from Salina Praid, Romania
I had a great opportunity to attend a Speleotherapy visit in Romania, at Salina Praid. I'm sharing with you some pictures and info so you'll be able to see this extraordinary alternate way in the treatment of respiratory diseases, based on natural salt from the heart of the salt mountain. The Salin device and Salt pipe have based their concept on this natural way of treatment.
A short description of Salina Praid:
Due to the extensive salt mining from many-many years, there have been left large underground halls, where a unique salt-mine microclimate has been created, with relatively constant temperatures, between 14 and 16 Celsius (57-60 Fahrenheit) degrees, low humidity 66-70% and a higher air pressure than on the surface 735-738 mmHg on average.
The air inside of the Salina is highly ionized, very effective in what the respiratory diseases treatment is concerned. The underground treatment was firstly held in the early 60s, and in 1980, the treatment base was moved to the "50 horizon", which lies at 120m (~395 ft) underground, its width is of 20m (~65 ft), height 14m (~46 ft) and length a few hundreds of meters. During the summer season, the visitors of the mine outnumber 2500-3000 daily.
The salt-mine provides the following attractions: underground halls with electricity supply, Internet access, playgrounds for children, buffet and shops, museum and art exhibition, billiard-tables, tennis-tables, other sport activities as badminton, medical gymnastics and an ecumenical chapel, all specially created for your relaxation.
